Tales of the City series. DeDe is the daughter of Edgar Halcyon and a spoilt socialite from Hillsborough. She's married to Beauchamp Day, who's basically married the boss's daughter so he can live in the style to which he is accustomed: being one of the closeted, moneyed 'A-Gays'. When she suspects Beauchamp of having an affair with his secretary,
Mary Ann Singleton, she gets her own back by sleeping with a Chinese delivery boy, but gets pregnant with twins. Although this soon becomes public knowledge, Beauchamp luckily dies, and she meets a model, D'orothea, and falls in love. They go off to
Guyana to join the People's Temple, and escape the mass suicides with DeDe's twins, although
Jim Jones later turns up and follows her in a bizarrely implausible storyline.
She, D'orothea and the twins later move into the family mansion in Hillsborough with her alcoholic socialite mother, and run a celebrity restaurant.
