Largest of the
Great Apes, gorillas are in serious danger of becoming
extinct in the wild.
Although they look
scary they're actually very
peaceful animals, but don't get on their wrong side because they're easily strong enough to
kill a human.
Dian Fossey was a famous gorilla scientist, her story was told in the film Gorillas in the Mist starring
Sigourney Weaver.
A famous gorilla (to Britons at least) was Guy who used to live at London Zoo.
