The tasty arthropod hailing from the Chesapeake Bay. Often turned into crabcakes, but even better are soft shells served in different ways, and hardshells steamed in beer, vinegar, and Old Bay. You then pick them apart with a fork and a crab mallet, and eat them, most often on a table covered with brown paper. You get Old Bay under your fingernails and into every cut on your hands that you didn't know you have. But oh, is that sweet, tasty, delectable animal flesh worth every minute!
