Queen's University is located in
Kingston,
Ontario. It was founded in 1842 and is host to a student body of around 11000. It has the smartest freshmen of any
Canadian university, measured by entry grades. Its students are also famous (notorious?) for school spirit.
The University colors are Red, Gold and Blue. The Queen's flag is known as the
Tricolour. The engineering faculties are associated with the color gold, and arts and science with red. Education and medicine use blue.
Queen's university observes a lot of strange customs. One example is the engineering
grease pole. Another is the "
Oil Thigh", a
gaelic chant taught in the first week.
