In the "Transformers: Masterforce" Japanese cartoon, a Godmaster is the translated-to-Japanese-and-back name for a Powermaster.
Like the Japanese Headmasters, the Godmasters are completely controlled by their small human (not Nebulan) drivers, rather than being "binary-bonded" and sharing a merged personality with them. However, at the end of the "Masterforce" series, all the Godmaster robots received self-awareness and were able to leave Earth without their human pilots.
