In May 2001, FHM published the "100 Sexiest Women in the world 2001". FHM Australia is based in Sydney, Australia, and the target demographic is the 18-35 year old male market (not surprising if you know that FHM stands for "For Him Magazine").

The survey was conducted over the internet and by mail. 18% of the 160,000 voters were female.

In the interest of brevity (and/or laziness!), only the 50 sexiest women chosen by FHM readers will be listed here. While you may find the list sexist or feel that it reflects the pressures placed on women to comply to beauty standards, it also reflects the current aesthetic climate and what is deemed a "popular" look. So back off and think of this as the cheesy "sexy women" metanode voted by adolescent and silly boys the world over.

Strangely, the women voters chose a vastly different group of sexy women. Their no. 1 was Kylie Minogue, who came in at no. 6 on the above list. Also featuring on the women's list were no. 2 Sarah Michelle Gellar (no. 7 in above) and no.3 Penelope Cruz (no. 13). Australians who did well with women voters included model Elle Macpherson and former Midday host Kerri-Anne Kennerley.
