Largely forgotten comedy trio who were popular in the pre World War II years. The act consisted of three brothers, Al, Jimmy, and Harry Ritz, whose original surname was Joachim. They made several shorts and features which look today like a cross between the Marx Brothers and the Three Stooges. Since they came out of vaudeville, they were all good dancers as well as comics and this physical nature shows up quite often. For whatever reason, they have largely faded into oblivion, although Harry and Jimmy did star in a 1974 film called Blazing Stewardesses, which I have never seen (Al was deceased by that point in time). Occasionally one of their films shows up on Turner Classic Movies often between Marx Brothers films.
