Seasons In The Sun was originally written by Jacques Brel and titled Le Moribond, or The Dying Man. Rod McKuen later translated the lyrics to English. Terry Jacks, a Canadian singer and producer, took the song to the Beach Boys who recorded a version in 1972 which was unfortunately never released. After being devastated over a friends recent death, Jacks recorded his own version of the song. When one day, his newspaper delivery boy and friends took a listen, they loved it and this inspired Jacks to release it on his own record label. It ended up selling 11.5 million copies worldwide.
