The Murray Grey breed is an Australian cross of Angus bulls and Shorthorn cows, and it has been gaining a great deal of popularity in recent decades, though it has been successful in Australia since its development in 1905.

Throughout the Pacific area, the Murray Grey is prized for the high quality of its meat, which is evidently delicious and distinct enough that some Japanese eat only this breed's beef.

For ranchers, the breed's easy disposition, high growth rates, and easy calving are all very appealing.
