LLLLs (La Leche League Leaders) are the core of La Leche League International. These women are mothers who have been accredited by LLLI after extensive training in the management of breastfeeding in normal and unusual situations along with personal experience with breastfeeding. Leaders are the grass roots of the LLLI philosophy and the basis of LLLI’s mother to mother support. Leaders are volunteers, and in fact pay fees for the privilege of giving their time and heart to the cause. Leaders are expected to stick to the "party line" and not mix causes. LLLI's philosophy is to be consistantly applied and leaders should not interject their own philosophy if and when it differs.

Leaders may help mothers 1 to 1, by phone, through online help forms and by leading monthly meetings.
