The name of a mutinational corporation in the book Green Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson, appearing in the next book in the series Blue Mars as a metanational corporation. At the top of the heap are the "Immortals", a dozen or so ancient business people who spend more of their time surfing the waves than actually running anything. (The nickname is because of a treatment avaliable that helps prolong lifetimes. The Immortals are probably in the 120-140 year range.)

Praxis is different from the other multi-/meta-nationals, in that the controlling group within it sees more than just bottom lines. Or, put better, their bottom line includes more than just dollars and cents. Also, it is organized in order to give the divisions and subcorporations maximum control over policy, more of a nation than a company (similar to Fireball in Poul Anderson's The Stars Are Also Fire).
