Reefer Madness is also a
musical, based on the
movie, that played in
LA for a while and just recently opened
off-Broadway in
New York City. The play was co-written by
Dan Studney and
Kevin Murphy, and the
choreography was done by
Paula Abdul. Dan and Kevin are both successful TV writers, but I know them best from going to
college with them. As if they'd remember me.
I normally despise musicals, but knowing the people involved with this one, and the source material, I'm going to give it a shot. Also it won a lot of awards in the LA production, so I am pretty sure it will be worth the trip, so to speak.
The producer describes it as a cross between Leave it to Beaver and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
