It's been mentioned on this node that the They Might Be Giants album "John Henry" was named for the legendary character "John Henry", and that it was Their first album to use a full band, but it has not been mentioned that these two facts are connected.
The story of "John Henry" (the mythical character) is about the struggle of Man vs Machine, and in the end, Man beats Machine. (Except of course for the fact that Man dies while Machine does not...) Now, previous TMBG albums used drum machines and the like, while "John Henry" (the album) uses actual people. Hence it is Man once again defeating Machine. or something.
