This character in Spike Lee's hit movie, Do The Right Thing was about the funniest thing I had seen in a long time back in the late 1989. With his pals ML and Coconut Sid, Willy spends his days sitting in a lawn chair on a sidewalk in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Together, they drink beer and talk trash about each other and everyone that walks by.
Sweet Dick Willy was played by the late stand-up comic, Robin Harris, who also appeared in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. Unfortunately for afficianados of his style of vulgar humor, he had a massive heart attack and died in 1990.
