A festival -- held somewhere in the
UK (most recently at
Cheltenham racecourse) on the August Bank Holiday weekend. A people -- an eclectic mix of
strangers who meet up at the festival. A place -- think of it as where all the
Christian Ley Lines in the UK meet. Closest US equivalent is
Cornerstone.
I first went in 1988, and have been back every year since. That year The Proclaimers played, and I spent the weekend perforating my eardrums in the crowd. I tend to go just for the atmosphere now. There's no place quite like Greenbelt.
