keyboard player, part of the nucleus of
P-Funk, and a satellite of
T-Funk. He "invented" the
funky
Moog bass line. Has a parallel career as a
session player - e.g.
Freda Payne's classic "
Band of Gold", and recordings with artistes as varied as
Rita Coolidge, the
B-52s'
Fred Schneider,
Pharoah Sanders, and
Mike Watt. Plus all the 1001
Parliafunkadelicment Thang side projects of the 70s/80s. Original member of the "CBS Orchestra" on
The Late Show with David Letterman.
