Inspector Morse is a
detective show whose main character of the same name is portrayed by John Thaw. Sort of there version of our
Columbo. He is based on a series of books by author, Colin Dexter. Like
Alfred Hitchcock, Dexter enjoys cameo appearances in each episode. Upon a closer listening you will detect that the show's theme music spells out Morse's name in
Morse code.
