A
cultural institution of the State Government of
Victoria. Funded through Arts Victoria, but organised through the
Library Board of Victoria. The Library Board of Victoria is appointed by the
Premier of Victoria.
Staffed by over 400 people. Located in Melbourne, occupying the block formed by Swanston, Russell, Latrobe and Little Lonsdale Streets. Colocated during 2000/2001 with the National Gallery of Victoria. Perviously colocated with the Museum of Victoria.
One division of the Library Vicnet provides community internet services.
