When I was in high school I liked to write short stories. I was also very lazy, so we invented this new
literary form: the one-paragraph story.
One of them featured an imaginary creature, the gnerk.
Imagine my surprise when, in the following year, we had nationwide commercials for milk carrying the slogan: 'Gnerk, the white gnotor'.
A case of plagiarism? Clearly, my beloved animal is as close to a gnu as it can get without actually being one. I feel the company should have included the source.
