New Technology used in the upcoming release of Doom III. This new shading technique calculates the amount of light hitting each pixel on a surface. Unlike previous shading, where only surfaces were calculated. Here, the advantage is realistic images, on the order of that you get with raytracing. The main disadvantage is the computing power required. Unless you have a Pentium4 with at least 256 MB of RAM, and nvidia Gforce 4, I don't recommend any game that utilizes this technology in real time rendering.
