Motion picture released 1998, directed by Whit Stillman, screenplay also by Whit Stillman.

A pair of preppy New York girls move into an apartment together during the dying days of disco, when all around were divided into the "Disco is a movement and will live forever" camp, and the diametrically opposed (and to this critic) meat head sloganeering of "Disco Sux." Most characters self-destruct and one disappears to Barcelona where he is to appear in Stillman's film of the same name.

A wordy and witty film, adored by Stillman fans and broadly misunderstood by most others.

Starring newcomers Chlöe Sevigny and Kate Beckinsale, who put in sexy and artily-believable performances, Jennifer Beals, and Robert Sean Leonard.

Great film, recommended.
