The origin of the term
yobbo is reputedly from a 19th century
English slang term
yob, meaning "backwards boy" or "a boy never-do-well".
Modern usage of yobbo usually means lout, hooligan, or anotherwise uncouth and coarse male, such as the soccer hooligan in the UK and the ugly Australian in the Antipodes.
