February 26, 2004 (idea)

Well I said I would let everyone know when I got Internet at home. I got it. Adelphia Powerlink. Haven't accomplished much so far. Internet was installed Friday. So it's been about almost a week. I've caught up on some school work. Lots more to accomplish though. Let's see, I need to make a to-do list anyway:

• Psychology research paper that will be on self-injurious behaviors including eating disorders. "What makes people do things that hurt their bodies?" type thing, but I haven't really done anything for it yet.
• I have a psychology test this coming Tuesday. This one is on the biology part of psychology. Neurons, Hormones, and the brain. Not something I'm very good with.
• For Beginning Piano we have a bunch of scales to learn, and three songs: "Take Me Out To The Ballgame," "Morning mood," and "Ode to joy"
• For the microcomputer class we are taking there is a bunch of simulations of Microsoft Word XP. Quite frustrating. Then there is the documents to be made following step by step directions in the "green textbook" and the "Applying your knowledge" project in the "white text book" The apply part is based on the documents that are needed for the imaginary Ed's Pet Store.
• For my Library Science class, which is "Information Sources and Research Methods, I have two large packets due in which I have to answer questions using several Reference books and websites. This weeks packets include:
  • The Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary
  • Webster's Third New International Dictionary of the English Language Unabridged.
  • Merriam-Webster Online
  • The Oxford English Dictionary
  • Acronyms, Initialisms, and Abbreviations Dictionary

  • The New Encyclopedia Britannica
  • Columbia Gazetteer of the World
  • The Times Atlas of the World
  • Times Atlas of World History
  • Historical Atlas of California

  • The World Almanac and Book of Facts
  • www.Countrywatch.com
  • The Book of the States and its 3 directories
  • The Almanac of American Politics: The Senators, The Representatives, and the Governors
  • Chase's Calandar of Events
• Also for the Library class I have an oral report with a written portion on a reference book/website of our choice. I actually considered E2, but I think I will be doing it on a book I have at home. Do not remember the title at the moment.
• The library class also has a bibliography due. I'm going to use the same one I am using for my psychology paper to save me time, just need to make sure all the requirements get covered.
• I am the secretary of the book club on campus. We are currently reading The Hamlet by William Faulkner. I'm way behind on that book. It's just not high on my priority list. Seems no one in the club but the president has read more than one or two chapters of the book he chose. Between this week and next we each have to chose a book and begin reading it and the next meeting we will present the books to the other members. I find this odd.
• I am in a pharmacy tech program, and have been for quite sometime. It is a correspondance course. I need to finish the last unit.
• My room is messy. I need to find my bed.
• I have not eaten or slept. These need to be attempted again.
• I have been meaning to give my E2 account a good cleaning. There's a lot of write-ups I need to update. I also have a few things I have started to write that I need to finish.

I am NOT having one of my better days. I have some really good friends tho. I am loved. I am very lucky. I wish I could never forget this.

One other highlight: I am now a mentor! How cool is that?
