I never went to Sunday School, but I did take courses at the University of Toronto with a Bascilian Father, Arthur Gibson. He always seemed to make the case that in the great drama of creation, sin, redemption, transfiguration, God was the great playwright.

That it was His great plan to allow free will for his creatures so they would choose Him. Somehow this is bound up with sin--especially original sin.

But I think this misses the point about patent: there is no doubt the thing was created, but when was the legislation passed? It seems to me this was a very many years after the creation--so...this thing is now in the public domain.

It's like trying to copyright something by J.S. Bach.
