In Japanese, these puns are know as oyaji gyagu. Oyaji means old man, like your dad. Gyagu is engrish for gag.

These gags are often followed by the listener saying

samu!
or
sabu!


and proceeding to use body language as if they were cold. These words come from the word "samui" or "cold", but are also used to mean a bad joke.
