I've become quite a fan of granola bar lately, due to my new years resoloution of becoming less of a lardarse. Although it's not low in calories, it's more filling than chocolate or whatever, because it has more complex carbohydrates in it, and less simple sugars. It's also high in fibre and omega 3 oils, for all round healthiness. Essentialy you can make it with any sorts of nuts, fruits and cereals, bound with any number of things, and then baked. This is my recipe

Ingredients Instructions
  1. Preheat an oven to 190C
  2. Chop the dates and dried fruit (any kind will do) until the bits are the same sort of size as the seeds.
  3. Mix everything except the condensed milk in a big bowl
  4. Add the condensed milk, and stir until homogenous
  5. Pack into a greased cake tin or similar, and put in the oven for 45 minutes, or until browned on top.
  6. After it has cooled for 15 minutes, but before it's gone solid, cut into 4 dozen peices with a sharp knife
One peice of this should be just over 100 calories, and it will keep for months in an airtight box.
