Tunica, Mississippi is America's third largest gaming resort destination, only behind Las Vegas, Nevada and Atlantic City, NJ. As of August 7, 2001 ten casinos have been built in the area, 6,000 hotel rooms, and 40 restaurants.

Casinos built (prior to 8/7/01): Bally's, Fitzgerald's, Gold Strike, Grand, Harrahs, Hollywood, Horseshoe, Isle of Capri, Sam's Town, and Sheraton.

Tunica, MS is located just 17 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee.

Each January the Horseshoe in Tunica hosts the Jack Binion World Poker Open, which is a prequel to the World Series of Poker that occurs a few months later at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas, NV.
