international organization that got its start in the
United States. Their main
objective is the
measurement and interpretation of human attitudes and behaviors, and they sell their
analyses to
businesses and
governments around the world.
Since 1935, Gallup has conducted the Gallup Poll, a survey of public opinion on such wide-ranging topics as presidential elections, beer preference, and satisfaction with the economy.
The main headquarters of the Gallup Organization are located in Princeton, NJ, but they have offices around the globe, with operations in 25 countries.
