A book by Lois McMaster Bujold. This book contains three novellas about Miles Vorkosigan's missions:
- The Mountains of Mourning - a woman from the backward area of Silvy Vale on the planet of Barrayar has accused her husband of murdering their new baby, and Miles is sent to investigate the case.
- Labyrinth - on the criminal planet of Jackson's Whole, Miles is on a mission to capture a genetically altered creature, but finds that it is nothing like he was told it was.
- The Borders of Infinity - Miles has to infiltrate a Cetagandan prison camp in an attempt to rescue his colleague.
