By Bryan Ferry, recorded by Roxy Music on For Your Pleasure, 1973.

If you're getting one Roxy Music album, For Your Pleasure is the one to get. This is where they peaked (before Eno left the band, before the self-parody and aimlessness), and I don't think that what they're doing here could be done any better. You could describe them as a sort of upscale English New York Dolls. If you get the Dolls' first album too, you'll have a decent snapshot of what was bubbling along under the surface back when Grand Funk Railroad and Yes pretty well owned the charts. You'll also have two great and glorious slabs of some of the most riveting and fascinating rock and roll that ever walked this earth. This is important stuff here.
