My mom is the coolest mom in the universe. Her parents were anal control-freaks, so she vowed at an early age that she would never be like them. As a result, she's a completely awesome mom. First and foremost, she's a major geek, which is really cool. She got me using computers when I was barely old enough to read, and taught me BASIC when I was barely old enough to understand mathematics.

When I was old enough to drive, she gave me her wonderful car (a '91 Mazda Protege) and bought a new one for herself. When my sister was old enough to drive, my mom gave the Mazda to her and bought me a brand new '99 Plymouth Neon. But she's not cool just because she buys me things.

She understands, more than any adult I've ever met, how teenagers think and what they need and how to deal with them. She gives me freedom to do mostly what I want and what I think is best, while at the same time making sure that I know my limitations and don't hurt myself. She trusts me. And I can talk to her about anything and everything. What's more, I actually listen to her advice, because I know she knows what she's talking about.

My mom is awesome. I love my mom.
