ISC is an abbreviation used in the Canadian (and probably others) mutual fund industry. It stands for Initial Sales Charge, a type of commission charged on mutual fund purchases. ISC is also known as Front-End Load, or FE. When you purchase an ISC fund, you pay a flat percentage of the purchase amount up front, but after that there is no fee to redeem your units or switch to other ISC funds in the same fund family.

Other types of mutual fund commission include: Deferred Sales Charge (DSC), and No Load (NL).
