The wild horse race is an event found at some rodeos, usually towards the end of the day. A group of untamed horses are released into the arena. Groups consisting of three people run on foot into the arena carrying a rope and a saddle. The object of the contest is for the group to lasso one of the horses, put the saddle on it and for one of the group to ride the horse across a finish line before any of the other groups succeed in doing it. This is, as you can imagine, a wild competition and exciting or disgusting, depending on your view of rodeo events.
