dinosaur. Its bony crest was used to produce low-frequency, foghorn-like sounds, enhance its sense of smell, and used in
courtship displays. The
crest was up to 6 feet long. Males may have had longer crests. Parasaurolophus were about 33 feet long and weighed about 3 to 4 tons. It had a toothless, spoon-shaped
beak and a pointy tail. It had keen sight and hearing.
Parasaurolophus lived during the late
Cretaceous period, about 76-65 Million years ago. Parasaurolophus was an herbivore. And were thought to be a fairly
intelligent dinosaur. Parasaurolophus walked on two legs and was a relatively fast dinosaur. It probably went on all fours legs to forage for plants and may have spent some time in the water.
