Freestyle is also the
opposite of
vert in
skateboarding competitions. Where as vert
restricts the skater to a
halfpipe, freestyle gives the skater a great range of
jumps,
funboxes,
quarterpipes and
rails. Freestyle is what you will often see on
TV when the
X-Games are on, where the skaters are
indoors with a bunch of jumps.
Freestyle skaters use grabs, flips and grinds though they have no technicality in their style, rather they bust for bigger and longer air.
