Huge and modern shopping mall in Istanbul, Turkey.

It was built in one of the richest towns of Istanbul, Etiler, in December 1993. Akmerkez was awarded "The Best Shopping Mall of Europe" in 1995, and "The Best Shopping Mall of the World" in 1996. Every month almost 1,5 millions of visitors visit this wonderful mall. It includes 246 distinguished stores in its 3 floors. In the uppest floor there are four movie theatres and different kinds of regular and fast food restaurants, such as Burger King and Wendy's.

Some famous stores are Reebok, Lee, Levis, Benetton, Philips, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Mavi Jeans and Mudo.

When we scrutinize the word, we see that "Ak" means "White" and "Merkez" means "Center" in Turkish. But do not thing that the building is in white color.

Also, above these three shooping floors, there are three seperate skyscrapers in which some companies operate and some celebrities inhabit.
