From what I've read from both of Hazelnut's "HARDEN THE FUCK UP" writeups, he, a brit, thinks that we American left-wing crybabies should just man up and accept that Trump is president now, and it's all our fault and we shouldn't be mad that he won because we should've politic'd better.
Now, I don't doubt that I'll catch flak from both sides because I'm only sixteen and haven't even taken my government class yet (as for some reason Arizona saves it for your senior year), but I have my two cents to put in here. I'm not mad just because a Republican won. I've always said that if we manage to resurrect Teddy Roosevelt that he should just straight up be president for however many terms he gets elected for.
I'm mad because of what he stands for. You handwave away how horrible these people are- see your mockery of calling people "-ists and -phobes!"
Why not put anything in front of that word?
Call a fucking spade a spade. That's what we do. They are racists and homophobes. As a bi person myself, that's pretty fucking important when it comes to somebody being in power.
And again, so you can't pretend we aren't angry at our candidate, we are. But we couldn't do jack shit about it. Kamala is a bitch, but she was the lesser evil from our point of view. But that doesn't mean we can't be angry about how things turned out.
Let me emphasize something for you.
My civil rights are being threatened here.
Trump's actions and voter base have made it abundantly clear that LGBT people are not going to be protected whatsoever. And yes, we need that protection. When I have gotten punched for standing up against being called a faggot, and when I STILL get called it even after I've moved, I need it. Homophobia is so mentally exhausting to be subject to. It is not a joke. I have had friends who I've had to talk down from suicide because of how they'd been treated their whole lives- or because they felt scared, because it was unsafe for them to just be themselves.
Maybe across the pond you can sit back and stereotype us all. But everyone here knows you're only telling us to shut up and take it because it doesn't affect you in any way at all. You have no empathy, and no sense of self-awareness as to how much of a monumental prick you are.
I think that makes you a clown, and it's honestly a little sad this isn't ragebait. But most of all, it's funny. It's funny that you tell people who are worried because their rights and happiness are, in fact, likely to be affected to "Act their age, not their shoe size" at the end of a complete nothingburger of a post with "suck it up" sauce as the only real message, in which you consistently act like a 10 year old who hasn't learned how to be empathetic.
This is not the slam dunk you think it is. This entire post comes across like you wrote it while wearing one of those motorcycling grim reaper t-shirts while listening to Eminem. You're not a badass for "owning the libs". You're just an ass, and one who can't realize that that isn't a good thing.
Be a better person. Or don't. Just don't act superior while you're being a piece of shit.
