Ingredients :
200 g fresh figs
200 g of wheat flour
150 g of sugar
150 g butter at room temperature
3 eggs
1 sachet of baking powder (baking powder, approximately 16 g)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
50 g chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions :

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Grease and flour a cake pan (approximately 24 cm in diameter).

2. Wash the figs and cut them into small pieces. Reserve some to decorate the top of the cake if you wish.

3. In a bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt.

4. In another bowl, beat the butter with the sugar until you get a creamy and smooth mixture.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add the vanilla extract.

5. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients little by little, mixing until everything is well incorporated.
Add the chopped figs (and walnuts if using) to the dough and mix with a spatula so they are evenly distributed.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface with a spatula.
Decorate with the reserved figs if you wish.
Bake for approximately 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7. Let the cake cool in the mold for about 10 minutes.
Then, unmold and let cool completely on a grill.

And ready to enjoy!
