Some more recent info on the Reverend:
He was recently (early summer of 2001) incarcerated for his participation in protests on Puerto Rico. The protests were intended to stop the U.S. Navy from using a bombing range located on the island. While in jail he went on a hunger strike, which served the double purpose allowing him to make a political statement and lose some weight at the same time.

He is also exploring the possibility of running for President of the U.S. on the Democratic ticket. His exploratory committee will begin meeting by November 2001 and will recommend that he either does, or does not run for President. He is also taking a 'Freedom Bus Tour' of the State of New Hampshire in October of 2001, presumably to see how people in that state would react to him running.

Personally, I would vote for him.
