Posthumous novel by Anthony Burgess about the sleazy life and gruesome death of Christopher Marlowe, also called Kit Marlowe.

A gorgeous, lush novel, linguistically thick with period prose and drama. One can almost smell, touch, taste the Elizabethan world in which Kit Marlowe lived. It's not a quick read, but it is more than rewarding.

There's not much more I can write about this book that hasn't been written with more eloquence & passion by reader-reviewers on Amazon.com. Go there if you're considering this book.
