A Dreamer's Tales is a series of short stories authored by Lord Dunsany and first published in 1910. It differs from The Gods of Pegāna, and The Sword of Welleran and Other Stories in that it spends as much time in London and realer lands as it does in the lands of dreams and a fair bit more time on smaller things than gods and heroes. This in no way detracts from the quality of the work since Dunsany can make a story from the perspective of an old kettle as engaging as the chaunt of the gods. In this it manages to be wider in scope, some of the stories are more ghoulish, and some more sentimental. The Day at the Polls begins a running theme of the perversity of political doings and The Fields hints at future themes of environmentalism. It's also noteworthy that a few of the stories are told from the first person such that Dunsany is presenting them as things that actually occur in his own life.
The stories are as follow:
Poltarnees, Beholder of Ocean
Blagdaross
The Madness of Andelsprutz
Where the Tides Ebb and Flow
Bethmoora
Idle Days on the Yann
The Sword and the Idol
The Idle City
