Commander of Nicaragua’s Guardia Nacional. He was the puppet dictator of Nicaragua who was oriented towards the United States. Orchestrated the assassination of folk hero Augusto Sandino. He established a dynastic rule until 1979, and he stayed in power with the help of the U.S. and the Guardia Nacional.
