Actually the Ajinomoto (literally, "material taste") company based in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, they produce a variety of soft-drinks and food additives (like seasonings). Makers of the famous Calpis Water and Calpis Soda yogurt drinks. Mmm mmm good!
Some suspect that Calpis Co. has never had a successful American product launch outside of the Asian Market scene because there name sounds too much like, "Cow Piss".
