Chimeneas are large clay pots used as outdoor fireplaces. They were originally used in Mexico as the primary source for cooking and heat. Chimeneas are now becoming very popular in the USA, and they have become quite the rage here in Austin. They are used as a decorative and very functional item for decks or patios. I had seen chimeneas on sale for a while before I experienced how useful they could be. This was at my sisters wedding, which took place at a friend of hers house. The crackling sound of fire burning in four chimeneas and the welcome heat they produced made that patio a warm and inviting place.
