Christopher Colin Dean; British ice skating champion and choreographer; b. Nottingham, England 1958-07-27. One half of the Torvill and Dean partnership that turned ice dancing upside down in the 1980s.
Started skating at the age of ten and was a junior champion with Sandra Elson before teaming up with Jayne Torvill in 1975. Trained as a police officer but eventually quit to devote his time to skating.
Starting with his partnership with Torvill, he also choreographed many of their performances and in 1987 started doing work for other ice skaters and shows, both alone and together with Torvill. Some of his notable "customers" are Kurt Browning, Brian Boitano, Oksana Baiul and Michelle Kwan.
