Dolphins Stadium is the home to the
Miami Dolphins and the
Florida Marlins. The stadium is located 16 miles NW of downtown Miami. It opened August 16, 1987 for a Miami Dolphins
exhibition game. The first baseball game held there was held on March 11, 1988, five years before the Marlins first season. The stadium seats 75,540 for football and 36,311 for
baseball. The stadium accomodates 25,000 cars, 171 buses, 90 RVs, 84 limousines, 1 helipad, and 210 handicaped parking spaces.
The stadium was formerly known as
Joe Robbie Stadium and then
Pro Player Stadium. It was renamed Dolphins Stadium in
2005.
