Robert Fripp's name for the incarnation of King Crimson which recorded the 1995 album
THRAK. It is comprised of two "power trios." Fripp's original goal was to have a trio
Pat Mastelotto,
Trey Gunn, and himself opposite a trio of
Adrian Belew,&
Tony Levin, and
Bill Bruford. The idea worked better in theory than in practice.
On another note, the symbol Fripp chose for the Double Trio is the same as that of the Discordians.
