Frost returns
stepping across fields
leaving behind a thin glaze
Deceptive sugar

He has been away
dozing away those humid afternoons

Frost returns on these grey mornings
Only briefly, as he is indifferent

He has travelled a thousand roads chasing after Summer
who swears she knows better
Summer, who knows he has left a trail of frozen tears
with each kiss

Frost, rolling in, rolling out
smooth dancesteps
courtesy of his mother
who knows a thing or two about

thanks to my autumn muse
