Novel in the Tales of the City series by Armistead Maupin, in which DeDe Halcyon Day, the spoilt young debutante turned lesbian who ran off to Guyana to join the People's Temple, returns and is (highly implausibly) followed by Jim Jones, who didn't die in the massacre thanks to a handy doppelganger. Mary Ann Singleton, now in a relationship with Brian Hawkins, the house tart, is chosen by Frannie Halcyon, DeDe's alcoholic socialite mother, to break the story.
