Dr. Henry Bates Peacock was one of the founders of Texas Instruments. Born in VanBuren County, Iowa in 1894, he received his BS, MS, and Doctorate degrees at the University of Iowa, finally leaving there in 1925 to work at the University of Arizona. He left there in 1926 to work at Geophysical Research Corporation, which he bought and turned into Geophysical Service Incorporated in 1930 along with John Erik Jonsson, Eugene McDermott, and Cecil Green. The group formed Texas Instruments in 1951. He was the fledgling company's Director from 1951 to 1953.
